NFL Players Kneel, Raise Fists During National Anthem in Preseason Games

Several NFL players raised their fists or took a knee during the national anthem at preseason games on Thursday night, reigniting the social justice protests that provoked the wrath of President Trump last season. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins, who had promised earlier this week that players would soon let their stance be known on a new anthem policy, raised his fist, along with cornerback De'Vante Bausby. Jenkins and other Eagles players wore a T-shirt during pregame warm-ups that read, “More than 60 percent of prison populations are people of color” and “Nearly 5,000 kids are in adult prisons and jails.” Several Miami Dolphins players also joined in the protest, with defensive end Robert Quinn reportedly raising a fist as wide receivers Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson took a knee. Colin Kaepernick, the former San Francisco 49ers player who started the national anthem protest movement, hailed Stills and Wilson for continuing “the protest of systemic oppression.” The renewed protests come just weeks after the league sowed confusion by initially vowing to fine teams with protesting players, only to backtrack on that new policy and announce it would work with the NFL Players Association to reach an agreement on the matter.

He is the only one who is making this a divisive issue. The players should do what they feel is right according to their conscience. The moron in the White House should just shut his fat trap about it.

It's happening everywhere, or didn't you notice.

Wait...you do know why they're protesting, right?

Owners like to remind us that it's a business, but it's clear that some of them don't get, as you said, without the players, they have nothing to sell.

They can play football, signal their deep contempt for a cruel and failing country, and also scramble eggs. (Lest we forget they're not just a product)

Keep jabbing trump in the eye over his stupidity. Protest and bring up the issues that we are not a united country, that racism is prolific in the USA and that as a nation we are better than our racist president. This 38 year ArmyVeteran does not feel insulted at by your actions of taking a knee to fist in the air. Well done NFL players!
