(10,021 posts)Just like Omarosa did. Then, regardless of qualifications and opinions of fellow personnel, those FBI agents can keep their jobs.
I feel safer already.

I am not addressing all this to you personally, I am trying to remind people that a SO CALLED group of people NOT on the right held this decision in their hands and THEY did this to us.
THEY repeatedly put out BULLSHIT and lies about Hillary. What I want to say to them is

It might come down that you have to leak information to save this country. Seriously.

(58,785 posts)from the front lines of the biggest DoJ case of our lives (so far) to the professional abyss of the human resources department.
He's undoubtedly very talented and experienced, but after reading contemptuous dismissals of a number of Democrats on the same level as those from semiliterate rural South neighbors, I have a poor opinion of his judgement in general. And of course his professional ethics and practices failed what were required and he was caught out. Finally is my guess. No best and brightest here.
My guess is also that, after permanently damaging his career with the DoJ, he would have eventually resigned to take a big-dollar salary in private industry anyway. So off he goes.

(58,785 posts)Your post feels threatening to me and imo is completely uncalled for.
You both are not just wrong about where I'm coming from, but -- and I of course say this with the greatest respect -- completely wrong. How on earth did you manage to read a life-long liberal, progressive Democrat's condemnation of highly unethical behavior as not appropriate to a Democrat?
You might try to consider Robert Mueller's reaction to this man's career-destroying lapses of ethics and judgement, which was actually very severe. Zero tolerance. Devastating punishment.
You realize, btw, that the fired agent is almost certainly a Republican, or at least strong conservative? You know, if he barks like a dog...?
Of course, we know for sure that Robert Mueller is also a Republican, but seemingly a very different sort. As much I truly respect his probity and commitment to very high standards, though, I must object to any post suggesting that agreeing with him means I might be one also. Proper ethical and moral standards are far, far more prevalent these days among Democrats and the Democratic Party than among Republicans.

(58,785 posts)There has been plenty all along that you've apparently missed, but I just now grabbed that statement by Harry Litman, "former U.S. Attorney and Deputy Assistant Attorney General," from from MSNBC's Deadline: White House.
This is not a black and white, "someone who spoke out against Trump must be our friend" situation. The FBI was dirty as hell during the 2016 election. Corruption and failure to uphold standards in the FBI helped deliver our nation to Trump and people who hope to continue to take power illicitly. Our democracy's survival may well depend on rooting it out. Unlike Comey's and McCabe's impacts on the election, Strzok's behaviors may not have impacted the Mueller investigation, but they were complete breaches of duty and they took place in the context of an FBI deeply corrupted by intense political partisanship where there should be none.
And from Frank Figliuzzi, "former FBI assistant director for counterintelligence," from the same show: "...but let's remember, Donald Trump is a subject of this incredible investigation virtually unprecedented in FBI history. Strzok was a leader of that investigation.
You can't be doing that as a senior executive. That's why he was fired. ...but the damage he did to the incredible perception of the bureau, which has to remain apolitical, can't be recovered from, and his effectiveness was gone. That's why he is out of the bureau today."

(4,395 posts)but that's not really any of our business and doesn't mean he wasn't a great spyhunter.
Likewise he shouldn't have used work devices to express personal opinions but he was entitled to have them as long as they didn't interfere with his work (which the IG's report found was the case).
He was the lead agent on "Operation Ghost Stories" which successfully tracked down Russian sleeper agents. He was the Deputy Assistant Director of the Counterintelligence Division who led the early stages of the Trump-Russia investigation before Robert Mueller was appointed and he oversaw the interviews of Michael Flynn that exposed him as a foreign agent.
He was one of the "best and brightest" and our country is demonstrably less safe now that he has been removed from his position by the same cabal that he was working to expose and that has a clear conflict of interest because he will be a key witness against them.

(988 posts)I would be ok if Democrats look for all fbi agents who have disclosed any political preference and fire them.
In particular the ones that where leaking info to Guiliani, etc.
Chris Wray would be GONE. All people trump has put into office would be GONE.
Anybody in the Military that has shown political preference while serving GONE
its ridiculous that Trump is trying to make any person that goes against him... as a democrat that is trying to destroy trump.
Knowing Democrats we will just go lets have bygones be bygones. Lets just take the high road and do the right thing.
NO democrats need to fix the rules regarding the president and his ability to use his office for personal gain. They need to make it official a law that a president can not interfere with investigations on his opponents or with his family.
Democrats need to spend the first year of their power fixing this mess.

..he should sue limbaugh the way the sandy hook families are going after alex jones. i imagine a lot of people could the same way
limbaugh has probably said peter struck stroke every other day since someone gave him that email info. stzrok is just another head on limbaughs trophy wall. hes done whole hours on strzok like he did on van jones and shirley sherrod and anita hill and sandra fluke.
the tape of the donor asking about firing rosenstein at the nunes at the fundraiser points out the value that team limbaugh has in driving a lot of this. limbaugh screams about someone for months and years and the dittohead base are screaming the same at their reps.
heres an eg of limbaugh from last week or so giving guiliani cover, spewing the same kind of BS hes been spewing about the deep state and clinton since inauguration and he manages to work in another one of nearly-daily references to strzok. sorry about the length and strzok is just an add in and its pretty confusing but for people trying to understand why this guys getting fired, why trump is still in the white house, and why he got there in the first place.
limbaugh seems to be working for putin, or at least trump, and hes on 600 stations
..
this is the same script thats been driving fox and asshats like gowdy and the newest republican wrestling coach, going after mueller and clinton and obama and strzok etc
And I've maintained you know my opinion this investigation is really nothing but an elaborate cover up of the efforts that were undertaken to exonerate Hillary Clinton. And remember this. This is also I think to me something I keep in mind at all times when I think about this entire scenario of the dossier and the Clinton opposition research and this supposed idea of that trump colluded with Russia and the election's illegitimate. what really really drove all of this is the knowledge on the part of the deep state that their candidates Hillary Clinton was statutorily guilty as sin. And if she was ever prosecuted and found guilty that Democrat presidential candidate would be sent to jail for years. There are already people in jail for less than what she has done just with trafficking in classified data on an unsecured server. Well they have known this. They were trafficking on that server with her. Everybody in this hierarchy the Democrat National Committee the Obama Department of Justice which ran this whole show the Obama Department of Justice which let the Russians do whatever they did make no effort to stop it. Anybody here knew that Hillary Clinton was guilty. Everybody knew that she had committed crimes above and beyond the Clinton Foundation the soliciting of donations from around the world that was the essence of selling policies.
Now her office in advance of her winning. Everybody there knew it. What they had to do was exonerate her. They had to take steps to make sure she would never be prosecuted. They had to take steps to ensure she would never be charged. It simply wouldn't do. They could not permit the Democrat Party's presidential nominee to even appear to be under a legal cloud.
And so they took steps to exonerate Hillary Clinton and I believe at the same time in order to cover up what they were really doing they started this whole game that Trump was illegal that Trump was corrupt and that Trump was colluding with the Russians the Russians were meddling with Trump and then when Hillary lost the election after they had gone to great lengths to exonerate her and they had put their professional reputations on the line all these lawyers all of these professional people had looked the other way when Hillary Clinton and her husband were committing actual statutory crimes had she won.
But she went and blew it by losing they had to hustle they had to begin a cover up of what had happened everything that they had done to exonerate her in advance.
And that's what all of this is the made up dossier the made up allegation of collusion and meddling the planting of spies in the Trump campaign whereas they tell Dianne Feinstein they found spy in her campaign they plant the spies in the Trump campaign. And even with planted spies they don't get any evidence that Trump is colluding. So they have to make it up. They have to manufacture it as news stories with anonymous sources from all over the intelligence community.
And they get their buddies in Cambridge and Oxford and the MI5 and MI6 in the UK to join in this effort. They kept the Australian ambassador. They put together a world wide network of intelligence agency allies to construct this massive fraud that the Russians meddled with the election hoping Donald Trump win. all of that to cover up what they did in setting the stage for Hillary Clinton to evade the law, evade capture, and evade charges. and now the Mullar investigation is a continuation of that cover up.
It's a deception campaign it's designed to take everybody's eyes off the ball the same way magicians focus your attention away from the illusion away from the so-called trick where you don't see what's actually happening because they've got your attention diverted. That's what this is what Rudy is talking about here. And they know much more than what has been reported. I think we all do. I think we know the various... the kinds of things Rudy is is alluding to. They would be the relationships between struck Strzok smirk and Lisa Page and Bruce Or and his wife.
And all of the relationship they had to fusion GPS and the Perkins Coey law firm with the Clinton campaign the DNC that is not being investigated and it's not being investigated because this is being done to cover all of that up that was never going to be known anyway. And they can't afford for it to become known. Now. And at the top of the heap at the top of the list of people that must be shielded is Barack Obama because all of this took place while he was president.
It all took place under the auspices of his administration his Department of Justice his FBI his authorization his knowledge. Obama's already on the record as having told a falsehood that he didn't know Hillary Clinton was using an illegal server until he read about it in the news. We know it's a lie because he was using it himself
He was trafficking in unclassified well classified data with her on her unsecure server. that's what Rudy is referring to and there may be some things that we don't know but it's going to be.

(1,018 posts)Having trouble finding "the reason." In quotes, because we know the real reason. If use of government equipment for personal use, and speaking as a former federal employee, everyone should be fired! I don't know a soul who hasn't called their spouse, their child, the dry cleaners, the bank, etc.. on a government phone.
I understand the recommendation was 60 days suspension, but even that is ridiculous in light of "the crime."

(18,124 posts)that Agent Strzok was a russian spy hunter, a very successful russian spy hunter? And that he had a huge victory-bust in 2010 of a russian spy group here? Putin said fire him and trump said yes boss. Sessions get on it. Yes, boss. Not a stretch at all for me to come to this conclusion.
