It would HAVE (not "of" ) taken longer; the Watergate investigation took two years.

I have seen the charts and all of them show that compared to all the other investigations and they all took much longer than this one and they were not nearly as complex. Mueller is working very quickly considering the amount of crap he has to go through. We are just impatient since one week seems like an eternity with the truckload of shit coming out of the W House each week.

I don't think they wrapped the Watergate investigation until a year or two after Tricky Dick resigned. Of course he did resign and who knows what dump will do* but the real point is that dump would never have been in the WH in the 60s (idiots need not apply).

*Personally I think that when the end game is obvious even to him, he'll say he's done what he came to do, "made 'Murica grate again," and head for the exit a "winner"...thinking (wrongly) that his departure will put an end to the totally unfair witch hunt. He is just a coward after all and he can't stand losing, or being seen to lose.

Nixon directly conspired with an enemy in an active war to derail negotiations pending the election. It only was he never removed from office for that, but there was no serious investigation of it at all.

Much of what Cohen has pleaded to would not have even been illegal.

Watergate took longer and was far less complex.

patience (and I know, it is hard to watch the daily insanity and have patience - I have to remind myself constantly)

Great things will come from the wait. drumpf is like a slimy fish in a teflon pan. Mueller is making sure he gets ALL of the men and women involved in the hijacking of our presidency. I am certain Mueller will get this job done like none other!

That's the end of that right there. For all the talk nowadays about JFKs behavior, it was a picture-perfect postcard of a First Family, as far as the general public was concerned.

In the 70s Watergate took a couple of years for the process to reach a climax, and that was super-simple compared to the widespread, decades-long, multi-layered, foreign-and-domestic criminality of Trump.

It is frustrating as hell to take so long, but we must let the wheels of justice grind forward, because they ARE grinding forward. That said, vigilance is required. Trump prefers to fight, especially fight dirty, and will never cave in and run away unless he thinks he can spin it as something other than caving in and running away.
