I probably should not have imposed my tired incredulity on anyone else. Some days it just cuts to the bone and this petulant dissing of McCain has me just---talking to myself, I guess.

Lots of things could make it pass quickly or slowly. It isn't a dream. And there has been much worse. When?
Viet Nam..Iraq..Kennedy's assassination. Dr. King's assassination . Robert Kennedy's assassination. Watergate..those I've lived through. Some here have lived through the Korean War and recall it. (I was alive, but didn't know about it) There is more..

I met a fellow who is still going at 90, who fought with the Russians during WWII. He lived in Poland, and one night the Nazis came and killed his parents, and somehow he escaped and went east and not west. He ended up in the Soviet Union and fought with them against the Germans. He has seen worse. Much worse than I can imagine.
... Somehow he ended up in Berlin, and ended up with the U.S.Army in Berlin. (at the end of the war) He told them his story, and the Army said, ok, we will send you to the U.S.A. Where do you want to go?..He looked at a map, and saw a star in a city in Illinois, that star was the capital of Illinois, Springfield Illinois. (all capitals on that map had stars)..

So, he says, I want to go there. So the U.S.Army sent him to Springfield Illinois. Now he is a citizen and he is 90. (has two adult daughters, his wife passed away a few years ago.) Yes, he has seen worse. So have many, many more.. seen much worse. Will this country survive?..Most likely. How? somehow Why? I just think so..

We have some awful people in this country. And we have some really good and kind people in this country. Let us hope that we all see an end to the Trump show, and start another show..that is much kinder and enjoyable.
