Doesn't the GOP expect to hold the Senate? There'll be plenty of time for comprehensive hearings after the mid-terms and for the next several years for them to push Kavanaugh through. But the Rs are sure acting like they'll be out of power after Nov 6th.

With no historical precedent I can think of to go on, wouldn't the interference of one branch in another's constitutional obligation be grounds for a court case? The SC should decide if this should go forward without the necessary documents for consent.
