Lindsey just desperate to grovel before Trump.

(9,353 posts)He has been a suck up for a while.
The Russians must have something on him.
Only answer.

(7,876 posts)It's clear he's all aboard the Russian #MAGA train now. Now that Trump is apparently his new bestest buddy, I'm sure Trump put him up to it to feel like his narcissistic ass got one over on McCain.
I have no doubt that McCain wouldn't have wanted those two shits at his funeral.

(40,238 posts)He put her on the spot. If she said no that would be what everyone would be talking about.

(16,254 posts)People were visibly shocked to see them walk in and they glommed onto some nearby people to visit with. He assumed too much authority in even offering and put Cindy in a tough spot. Any nitwit would have known better.
I figured Lindsey would be blubbering all through the ceremony, but he acted like it was some outing for school.

(26,060 posts)also. Doesn't seem to be able to trash Donnie himself and knew they would have to sit there and take whatever anyone said.

(115,924 posts)Asking whether those two twerps could come was rude and put Cindy McCain in an awkward position, but on the up-side - at least Ivanka had to sit and listen to what everybody else thinks of her repulsive old man.

(6,709 posts)Unlike Sessions, Graham is never seemed to show any interest in the job until just recently. So why now? Why now turn his back on his closest friend and ally, never-Trumper McCain? Sure he's a weasel, they all are, but some at least are marginally better than others and maybe Graham is gearing up to pull an ultimate double cross. He's been around for a long time, maybe he can feel the winds shifting, and maybe he sees a way to build a lifeboat for a party that has an anchor tied to it (dawg knows he wouldn't do it just because it is The Right Thing To Do).
The Velveteen Ocelot
(115,924 posts)but I'm not sure that without McCain to remind him what a spine is he'll be able to handle the pressure and, like everyone else who joins that administration, will instead fold like a cheap lawn chair. He's a damn fool if he wants the job because nobody comes out of that administration with their reputation and integrity intact.

(6,709 posts)That's what I mean. I can't think he doesn't know that by now. So I think he may be trying to salvage what he can: let a Repuke AG stand up to Rump, as the walls fall in. It is all about having a Party, after the deluge.
It's just a thought. We may live to see.

CatMor
(6,212 posts)it would have been a better thing to do. Graham was wrong to put Cindi McCain in that predicament. I wonder if trump asked Graham to make the request.

(32,111 posts)Is Cindy McCain unable to say no because she is a weak woman? They did not want Trump and indicated that. If they did not want his children they would have said that also. Cindy McCain is responsible for her own decisions whatever they may be.

(15,064 posts)I guarantee you John McCain would not have wanted them there. Lindsey Graham is an opportunist prick. I know his type. I was born and raised in South Carolina. The bigoted racist Bastian of Toothless skull Orchard types.

(16,888 posts)This was a pretty obvious "Blue Falcon" move by Graham.
dawnie51
(959 posts)by the VERY small role he Graham played in the service. Just a tiny scripture reading. It took longer for him to walk up to the dais than it did to say the verse. For the bestest buddy and confidant ever, that was pretty piss poor. Maybe the family has had it with him and his Trump ass kissing. On the other hand, I thought Leiberman did a fine speech.

Me too
And to see what their father/father in law will NEVER have and in fact quite the opposite
PS: Also loved that they had to sit and listen to Meghan McCain's eulogy....
