Saturday afternoon I was looking at the computer with the TV on CNN in the background. I wasn't really paying close attention to it. It's not as if I had John McCain hagiography overload, but the truth is ... I had just a teensy little bit of John McCain overload.
They were playing clips of different people - including some Trump supporters talking about McCain. One reporter was at an American Legion post somewhere - I think in Arizona.
He was asking some little elderly lady who she had voted for.
Lady: Donald Trump
CNN: Sometning like, how do you feel about the way DT said about JM?
(I have to admit,I was headed into the kitchen at the time, and I don't have a transcript, so I am giving the Trump supporter the benefit of the doubt as to what she actually said.
L: We thought it was sort of tacky.
CNN: What do you think you should do.
L: Well, there's nothing we can ... I mean, what's done is done.
(At this point I whirled around and yelled at the lady on TV,
Nothing you can do? Nothing you can do? (I repeated it as if I was not sure I heard it the first time)
Listen Lady, this is on YOU ... every thing he said is on you - No, itt IS you! You voted for this orange dotard, this blowhard of no significance and even less ethical appreciation! You voted for him, and you and others like you - despite any Russian involvement - put him in OUR WHITE HOUSE!
Everything he said is on YOU. In fact, it IS you. He is your chosen representative, He represents You! So don't try to mealy moth your way out of your complicity!
Don't you dare say you didn't know he would act this way. WE all knew it! In fact you thought it was just frickin' fine when he acted that way about the people you hate. And he told you in the campaign how he felt about JohnMcCain. You just weren't listening because you thought "he say's what's on his mind. .... he talks just like me." and a bunch of other inane ramblings about why you didn't have to actually listen andthink about what he was really saying.
No. this is on you.

L: Oh, keep voting Republican, absolutely. Because God wants me to. And because if I don't the h***s and the n*****s and those dirty *****s will overrun us. Excuse me, I have to get ready for church.

(17,984 posts)After yesterday, then to have to listen to the rantings of people like,or worse I am fast losing the desire to sit among people like that old lady.
I listen to the Pastor preach about inclusion ,loving one another, following Jesus. Then invariably I hear a rant, about Hillary and her corruption. Or about how black people, gays, etc.
Then I come home and think, who are these people? Do they listen to the young Pastor?
The same goes for those sitting in the Cathedral yesterday. Not one of them listened. Congress will go right back on their power trip, the nation will suffer.
Trump tweeted hate most of the day, went out on the Golf course still full of his bile.
