Alyssa Milano: It's weird that Trump, with 54M followers, rarely gets over 20K retweets

It’s super weird to me that @realDonaldTrump has 54 MILLION followers and his tweets rarely get over 20 thousand retweets.

He’s screaming into the wind.

I bet this tweet gets more RT’s.

She was right - 51K retweets for her tweet so far.

I just opened one of his recent tweets which listed 35 K re-tweets. Lots of anti trump ones.

What is more interesting is how many of his followers are bots. Many of us spend a few minutes reporting suspected bots.

But why does he need retweets? They are rebroadcast everywhere else on all media. I'm not on twitter and hear about them all

It seems to me folks might be sick and tired of his habits. It is tiresome

He also seems to repeat himself a lot. Why retweet old news?

Even at 30k retweets that Is 1 out of every 1800 followers retweeting him.

Compare to Milano’s tweet above which generated about 1 out of 60.

do they measure any of the numbers? I don't have a lot of confidence in twitter measurement numbers being that they can't seem to pinpoint very well when someone is sending a trashy tweet or the like. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even have a network control center to monitor stuff (I don't have much confidence in twitter as a stand alone network...you keep hearing of problems and the like w/ this stuff).

That's just a count. Now how many of those are actual people compared to bots and how many of the actual people are supporters compared to media or opponents is hard to measure.

One group, as you say, doesn't tweet very much.

The other group that makes up a huge number of Trump's supporters is wealthy people with advanced degrees in business, law, etc. They're very pleased with their tax breaks and how well their investments are doing. Of course, they can't publicly agree with the vile, ignorant things that Trump tweets. So they're silent.
