Feinstein gave a statement on tv.

The usual stuff. Soft voice, political terminology, no anger or outrage.

"We go to this hearing in protest." I imagine some people dozed off during the short statement and wonder what she was talking about and why she thinks people should care they are going somewhere under protest.

I understand that this is the way things have been done in the past, but they are not dealing with a legitimate govt, any more. The opposition "won" by expressing outrage, by speaking straight so people could understand. The same ol' same ol' responses don't cut it, IMO.

some passion; some righteous indignation?

I am royally pissed off, but I feel like the Lone Ranger sometimes. If Trump, the Evangelical "Christian" right and the Koch's and Adelsons love Kavanaugh, what else do we need to know?

It's the underhanded methods of the Republicans, and skirting the law under the Constitution, and not being straight with the People.

The Democrats should be shouting from the rooftops...so that even the most distracted citizen understands what's happening with the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing, and WHY it matters.

But I'm not holding my breath. If the Dem leadership doesn't explain to the people in strong, simple, straightforward language, the con men will keep winning. The con men understand how to fire up their base and use the media. Maybe the new crop of politicians will grasp this better. If it's not too late already.

but when explaining things to the people, showing passion and some straight talk goes a long way to letting them know what's going on. They don't have to shout or pound fists...but some evidence that this is more serious than being stuck in traffic jam is called for. IMO.
