John Schindler, re Woodward book: Mattis has saved the world several times already.

That Trump is an ill-mannered nutcase with a low IQ and/or dementia is not actually news, but Woodward's latest Beltway oeuvre will provide more alarming anecdotes to flesh out what we already knew. Mattis has saved the world several times already.

I have to agree, after reading those excerpts from Woodward's book.

the only sane person in that clusterfuck of an administration is nick-named "Mad Dog." There's some irony for you.

I take the whole concept civilian oversight very seriously. A recently retired general should not be SecDef.

The Dems don't take back the house. Would that embolden Trump to move into defense policy, an area which he has mostly outsourced to this point? If he does lose the House, it might also try to do that as a sort of Hail Mary.

At the end of the day what actually stops Mattis from executing a lawful order. He refuses and Trump just goes directly to the military commanders.

along with Omarosa's book and the multiple guilty pleas and trial convictions, there is a reason for optimism for Nov.

Not much can be done about SCOTUS though, not enough hell was raised by Dem leadership about the docs on Kavanaugh that were held back by the crooked party.

in a fit of Trumpster pique over these revelations, the General could easily be shown the door. No one is safe of expulsion from the Garden of Crazy.
