They do not fear losing the House, because it is doubtful they lose the Senate. If they can install Pence and blame the demise of Trump on Democrats, they will maintain much of that base. If they depose Trump somehow they will lose all three branches in 2020..

long term damage will already be done and by the time it's fixed, they will slither back in. I've seen this movie several times in the last 75 years.
