OH-GOV: Barack Obama will campaign for Richard Cordray in Cleveland next Thursday
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Former President Barack Obama will campaign for Ohio Democratic gubernatorial nominee Richard Cordray in Cleveland on Sept. 13, one of Obama's first electoral rallies of the 2018 midterms.
Cordray is a former Obama administration official, having served as the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. The president has kept a mostly low profile in the 2018 elections thus far, though reports said he always intended to ramp up campaigning in the home stretch of the election.
The Cordray campaign did not immediately provide a time or location for the rally, other than to say in a press release it would be in the evening.
The event is open to the public. Anyone wanting to attend the Obama rally can register here.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. will campaign for Republican Senate hopeful Jim Renacci in Cincinnati and fundraise for Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike DeWine in Salem.
