There is no truth to rumors that GOP leadership want to withdraw the Kavanaugh nomination.

Nor is there any truth to rumors that GOP leaders are privately referring to Kavanaugh as "tainted", "dirty", or "complicit".

So stop spreading that around.

After all, Obama said 45 should stick with the Kavanaugh nomination, and who would know better ?

If it were me I sure would. If he's confirmed he'll go to the court with a big cloud over him - not that the GOPers would care, but maybe the rest of the court would care.

A Dem-led Congress should not forget about that.

Only one Supreme Court justice has ever been impeached and that was more than 200 years ago - Samuel Chase, in 1805. And he was acquitted by the Senate.

He has contradicted previous Senate confirmation testimony and there are documents to confirm that.

They should read him his rights and hold him on perjury in sworn Senate testimony.

Kavanaugh knows what his role is, and once he's on the Supreme Court, he is a law unto himself, unanswerable and unaccountable to anyone. Cases that would disqualify lesser judges because of conflicts of interest are glossed over for Justices on the High Court. All they have to do is say that they think they can render an impartial decision, and all questions about conflicts are mooted. Some Justices are careful and conscientious, and will recuse themselves from a case. But Justices like Thomas, Scalia and Alito have all sat on cases in which they clearly had conflicts, their own pronouncements of impartiality unreviewable by anyone else.
