In a column for the Washington Post, a conservative commentator highlighted a little-noticed exchange between Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) and Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh that indicated that she is holding back a bombshell that would link President Donald Trumps appointee to the special counsel Robert Muellers investigation.
According to Jennifer Rubin, late Wednesday night Harris asked Kavanaugh about any communications he may have had about the Russia investigation with anyone at Kasowitz Benson Torres, the law firm founded by President Trumps lawyer Marc Kasowitz.
Kavanaugh replied, I would like to know the person youre thinking of, to which Harris cryptically shot back, I think youre thinking of someone and you dont want to tell us, which appeared to baffle the judge.
According to Rubin, Harris line of inquiry has observers and White House aides scrambling to see what she might have been leading up to.

Would love to have a woman president in 2020, which is exactly 100 years since women got the right to vote.

This is probably what she has on him.
It's about his opinion that presidents should be able to stop prosecutions etc.
Someone speculated that she maybe holding it back for impeachment later.

(82,849 posts)Sen. Harris sounded like she was sidling up to something with her line of questioning, but since she wasn't divulging any of the committee confidential documents, the Republicans on the committee couldn't stop her (although Sen. Lee did his best to signal Kavanaugh about how he should answer Harris' questions).
Kavanaugh showed a very convenient memory lapse for someone who's sat on the DC Circuit bench for 12 years, feigning that he doesn't know anyone at the Kasowitz firm (which is based in New York, but has something like seven lawyers in its Washington DC office). Kavanaugh knows damn well what the Kasowitz firm is, and is well-acquainted with the lawyers from that firm who practice in DC. It would be like asking Bill Belicheck about this week's opponent and he said, "The Hew Stone Techs Anns? Who are you talking about?"

(4,341 posts)His interaction was as lame and childish as any I have ever seen, he must not be very creative because he was stepping on his words trying to make stupidity up..."there are thousands of law firms, and many people work at these law firms"...well dummy, she is asking about one only, it should not be difficult for the judge-con to remember who he spoke with.
If you look at the video, Kavanough's left hand started grabbing the notepad he had very hard, he became very tense, which is one way the body automatically manifests discomfort, and that discomfort usually happens when the person is lying. He also presented a thinking and speech impediment, he could not convey his thought very well, which is another sign of being caught lying.

He lends "friends" $200k, borrows $200k on credit cards, and then suddenly every person pays him back at once!
I'm sorry, I'm gonna have to see loan agreements on this.

(39,374 posts)And that was it. Harris said she was just asking a question based on what she termed reliable information that Kavanaugh had talked with someone at the Trump-linked law firm. She did not identify her source or give any details of the tip.
It wasnt a trick question, Harris spokeswoman Lily Adams said. His answer (Wednesday) night was entirely unclear, and it raised concerns by many people about whether this had happened.
Adams said Harris does not plan on doing anything more with the information she said she received from her source.

(5,811 posts)a source who told her he did discuss the Mueller investigation with someone at Trump's attorney's law firm.
I see a very clear connection between Kavanaugh's nomination and Trump's fate in criminal and civil matters. I believe Kavanaugh's nomination is part of Trump's conspiracy to obstruct justice.

(5,811 posts)the scope of Mueller's obstruction investigation. I imagine someone from Mueller's office called to set up a meeting to get the information on her source. Kavanaugh's nomination looks like part of a conspiracy to obstruct justice.
