I'm very grateful to Kavanaugh for one thing.

These couple days of hearings have reminded me of just how awful Shrub's Presidency really was. All the oldies but baddies came back to me - the torture memos, the Brooks Brothers Riots, the use of homophobic provisions at the state level to increase right-wing turnout, and the odious judges he appointed, like Bill Pryor, to name a few.

Trump has succeeded in making W seem less awful by comparison, but he still had plenty of awful in his own right. I'll always be very thankful to Bush whenever he calls out Trump, but I'll be damned if I ever re-assess his years in office.

The rehabilitation of his reputation around here has been alarming, to say the least.

The new monster in no way lessens the horribleness of the old monsters.

I push back every time someone says Bush wasn't so bad. It's his effing SCOTUS that helped elect Trump, with Citizens United and the repeal of the Voting Rights Act.

Shrub is in the top five all time bad presidents, maybe even #2 or #3. I was just thinking about this yesterday, after watching a few min. of Kavanaugh. Bushes aren't russian repugs, but they are oligarchs and they are repugs, so very against the interests of the average American. It's just they aren't total traitors or criminals or child kidnappers and profiteers from the kidnapping. They are war criminals, however and broke the law with torturing, so not good people.
