2. I would love to have either a person of color or a woman.

Or both a person of color and a woman (Kamala Harris).

But I will gladly support anyone with a "D" beside his/her name!

3. Yes

Lest this sound insensitive or controversial in any way (please don't hijack thread for that, please?), today when I saw Booker speaking, I had a flashback to the moment I first thought that about Obama, a clip of him speaking in Congress. It was like deja Vu.

4. Booker is a charismatic speaker

Democrats do well with charismatic speakers - JFK, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama.

5. That's right

Obama was the only previous President that, as an adult, I had that thought about (before being elected).

6. Im in

I love his combination of optimism and toughness.

He can spend twenty minutes talking up love and respect but then turn on the righteous anger when it matters.

Being a good speaker is a great advantage and one that I think is an absolute must in a candidate. I don't think you have to be a good speaker to be a good leader but it sure helps to get you elected.

I also love that his resume looks like it comes from Central casting. Stanford Football player, Oxford Rhodes scholar, Yale law, heroic fire rescue

He will fight the the bachelor stigma and the insinuations that come with that. But I think that is a real opportunity to change the conversation rather than a liability. He has been good about turning the sexuality question back on the people that ask it.
