So, no, the gesture doesn't signal "white power." But white supremacists have taken to using the gesture as a joke to make "libs" look bad. Then, when they falsely get accused of flashing some secret white power hand signal, the story is about gullible or hypersensitive "libs." Instead of the story being about the fact that white supremacists are influencing public policy. In other words, trolling "libs" is providing cover for those who really are white supremacists.

Anyway, you should probably read the article.

And, again, let's not help provide cover for those who really are white supremacists in the halls of power and influence. That's the real story.

And the article says they do that to make “libs” look dumb for falling for the trick. My comment was to assert that if they do that then they’re looking stupidly childish themselves.

And at this point, due to their real actions since Trump became president, unless proven otherwise the entire Republican Party are white supremacists. At the very least they are enablers which isn’t much of a distinction from being actual white supremacists.

I include those who only object to white supremacy tactics with the faintest of condemnations.
