for your area. Still not nailed down where it will make landfall but it seems the models want to then stall it out over the NC/SC coastal area and just inland and that would be terrible!

Our Georgia Bulldogs crushed them. Go Dawgs!

I hope everyone in SC stays safe. Your state is so beautiful!

My family and I were there several times this past summer. We visited the Congaree National Swamp near Columbia, went camping at Hunting Island SP, enjoyed the beach at Isle of Palms, and, along with our Cub Scout Pack, spent two nights onboard the USS Yorktown in Mt. Pleasant. We had a great time!

A direct hit somewhere in NC or the Cat4 skirts the coast and creates a mess for several states with no direct hit.

hate to say it, but when we visit relatives in the Carolinas the reasons we moved are still there.

but in the 50s and 60s there was not as much warning. I once spent the night on the 2nd floor of an elementary school in Charleston when the roads flooded and the storm turned towards us unexpectedly. About 20 kids with two teachers. No cell phones, no power, etc., so the next afternoon our parents found us. I had ridden my bike to school (1960-61?).

Until you get out of SC and see the world, you don't realize how "crazy conservative" pervades the local community. In Fl, about a third of my students are born outside of the US. Most of my neighbors who vote republican are doing so because of old affiliations or misguided economic theory. I still have siblings and other relatives in SC, and attending a family function is painful - racist, sexist comments, anti-immigrant rhetoric (while hiring the undocumented everyday), and CTs every discussion.

We can hardly stand it.
