(19,956 posts)sentence because Papadopulous's lies early on, resulting in Professor Mifsud escaping capture, when he was in the US at the same time as Papadopulous was being interviewed. Mueller was pissed with him over that.

(32,005 posts)None of that is true. What world are you in? Do you really think he can't fly or have a passport? Of course he can. He can get his voting rights restores upon completion of his 14 days by petition to the court. I don't know what work he has been doing but this conviction won't affect it.

(32,005 posts)The no fly list is a list of names of people who have terror links. Period.

(34,661 posts)can not agree with you statement about no fly. If you name match's a name on the list, get ready to have you life f-ed big time. How do I know, well got a family that has been dealing with this issue for several years. His Corporate Boss has to clear him with the TSA each and ever time he needs to fly to any city for a sales call. And there more crap he has to go through beside this, all because his name matches a name on the TSA no fly.

(14 posts)Out of embarrassment that he "only" got coffee boy to plea guilty to lying to the FBI? Or out of frustration that the JUDGE ultimately decides how long the sentence will be?
There are such things a sentencing guidelines, to which Mueller's team adhered. The recommendation was the maximum under guideline; 6 months. It's not like they can recommend 15 to life when the guidelines are less than a year. That would be ludicrous, and if the judge actually took the recommendation, an extreme abuse of power
I don't know why the judge decided 14 days. Maybe he thought 2 weeks in the pen for a momma's boy policy wonk would SEEM like 6 months.
In any event, coffee boy is a teeny tiny gear in a much bigger machine being systematically taken apart piece by piece by Mueller's team, SDNY, the FBI, the NY AG, the Manhattan DA, and more. No need for red faces anywhere.

(9,670 posts)Don't know if Pappa D. had very much to spill, if his reduced sentence was only half of what a non-cooperating witness got. Perhaps he corroborated points that other witnesses had already admitted or testified to. Mifsud would have been invaluable to this investigation; it's unfortunate that this little fascist allowed him to get away...and likely get killed.
