Ordered my absentee ballot today

Actually it's the application for an absentee ballot.
The ballots themselves will be mailed out on October 9th.

Being 72 and disabled (going in soon for heart surgery) I've voted by mail for a few years.

Were I to have to go to the polls, it may be raining cats and dogs,
or I may be too ill to go out.

This way, voting by mail, I always vote,
even if it's just a school board election.

Me too. Where I live, anyone can vote by mail. I do it because I might get hit by a bus Hoyt Sep 2018 #4

I live in a full VBM state, so no application required. They just send it.

But thanks for the reminder. We haven't had many shenanigans in my state, but I try to check my eligibility in the runup to the election.

Might have to do that soon.

I literally scanned my absentee application and emailed it to my Supervisor of Elections in Florida. I am awaiting on the confirmation email. The neurotic part of me is trying to stop from calling. It's been a full 43 seconds since I emailed the application, though. Why haven't they contacted me with confirmation?!?!?

right before the election, weather might be awful, someone may have died, the lines might be too long, a computer SNAFU might have me listed at another precinct, etc. Surprisingly, this is a red state. But here, there is no excuse for not voting. In addition to mail, there is early voting, including weekends, for several weeks.

Don't know for sure, but if I actually died from that bus a few weeks before the election, I bet my mail-in vote would still count (as long as my white wing neighbors don't say anything).
