I Do Not See How We Stop Kavanaugh From Being Confirmed Even Though He Is A Scoundrel.

It is almost certain that Kavanaugh is a very extreme radical who will further corrupt the Supreme Court. What we are seeing amounts to a GOP coup.

Especially, seeing as how there will be LOTS of harm between the time he gets seated and the time he is impeached and removed from the bench for perjury.

The ONLY way a Democrat votes yea is if the Republicans have 50 or more votes and we have no chance. Schumer will then release Heitkamp and Manchin to vote yea to improve their re-election chances. If two Republicans vote nay, my bet is that the Democrats remain solid and Kavanaugh is sent home to pray ("god bless you please, Mister Kavanaugh, heaven holds a place for those who pray" ). Maybe Flake, Corker and Murkowski will have a sudden acute attack of conscience or something. After all, Flake and Corker are history in less than four months. Their names can either get into the history books--or not. Their call.

if we can’t win even WITH their vote and a Yes vote enhances their reelection chances. If it’s two politically-damaging No votes and he still gets approved then we’ve hurt two candidates for no gain.

For decades, Republicans have appealed to the fundagelicals with promises of overturning Roe v. Wade, raking in the money and losing in the legislatures and the courts. Well, they've turned around a bunch of legislatures and they're working on the courts. They're as close as they've ever been to undoing this landmark court decision, and I don't see them stopping.

But what of all those years of losing? Did any of them say, "You know, it's just not worth the fight anymore"? Did they get discouraged and give up? Did they finally come to the realization after all these years that women's rights are human rights? Nope, nope, and nope.

Operation RedMap to begin with.

disenfranchising millions of voters by scrubbing the voter registration rolls, possibly recently with Russian hacker help.

Then there was the case of Merrick Garland... clearly qualified but not even given a hearing because "there is an election coming" (but there is ALWAYS an election coming).

Add to that clear disparity in the way underpopulated states are represented in the Senate versus states like NY and CA and even TX.

Then there is the matter of the last Presidential Election, which should be decided by direct vote count (as EVERY other election for a given geographical area is done for federal elections)...

If supposedly pro choice Collins and Murkowski announce they are no votes, then Schumer will insist all of our endangered red state Dem Senators up for re-election hold and vote no.
But, if either GOP women vote yes, it doesn’t matter what the Dems do.

How many Republicans are on the ballot in November? Not just Senators, all Republican candidates. They can all take fallout from a very unpopular confirmation being rushed through under shady, secretive circumstances. That fallout can only come from a noisy public.

if women lose this fight, R v W, birth control, and by lose, i mean restrictions further placed, or an outright ban, the fact that the Dems were seen as push overs will not fly, not one bit. not one fucking bit.
