Irma got our roof last year. The new one is rated to 140mph

Hopefully you will not lose power for long. With power you can make it through most anything. Power and Bourbon.

Let us know you are safe when it is over.

It's now forecast to go directly over my son's house, 30 miles west of Myrtle Beach. He and his family just moved there eight weeks ago from NY, so they have no history with how they stand in a storm like this. He's staying behind, hoping to forestall any flooding that may occur. Fortunately, their home is brick and perched on a knoll, so we're hoping they'll be in good shape. If necessary, he will move furnishings upstairs and try to save what he can.

My d-in-law, grandson, and granddaughter evacuated this morning. She's a champion at turning even the worse situation into a party, and loaded up the kids to head for DisneyWorld. For once, Florida is the place to be in a hurricane!

My brother works for Alabama Power and he's on his way up there with trucks and crews to help get your power back on. Praying for everyone impacted by this monster.

Trump is under a lot of pressure not to screw this up, like he did in Puerto Rico, that should keep him on his toes. I'm in NY, I saw today they are sending 1st responders from NY to help, and I'm sure other states will be doing the same. Hoping things won't be so bad. Thinking of and praying for all who might be affected. Take care!
