Trump's tax cuts will crater the economy next year. That's what they're designed to do: crash the economy in front of a new Democratic congressional majority, so Trump can blame it on us.
How long do you think it'll be after Trump does this that the inevitable "it's all Obama's fault" tweetstorm hits the wire?

(16,646 posts)I've been slowly pulling out all year. Nothing drastic. But the situation was already a bit unsteady. Trump has just decided to throw a rock into a pond that was currently calm.

(6,377 posts)He'll have his base, but that's it. When the economy crashed in 2008, people didn't point their fingers at the Democratic congress, they went at the President, as it should.
The economy is the only thing keeping him afloat right now. If that goes, he'll lose all independent support and probably republican support with the exception of his base.
He's survived some pretty absurd stuff, but one thing he wouldn't be able to survive is an economic crash. If that happens, he's toast in 2020.

(33,416 posts)His 'base' is all around me. The last word I got from one of them was, "Trump could do even more if he didn't have to fight all those career politicians in Washington. They're the ones blocking everything."
I fear an economic crash will be blamed on everyone except the CON.
