Alumnae of Kavanaugh accusers high school express support for her
By Justin Wise - 09/17/18 11:19 AM EDT
Alumnae of Christine Blasey Fords high school are circulating a letter to show their support for her, after Ford came forward with sexual misconduct accusations against President Trumps Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.
It demands a thorough and independent investigation before the Senate can reasonably vote on Brett Kavanaughs nomination to a lifetime seat on the nations highest court.
The letter, which says its from more than 200 alumnae from classes 1967 through 2018, added that Fords allegations about Kavanaugh are all too consistent with stories we heard and lived while attending Holton.
Many of us are survivors ourselves, it said.
HuffPost reported that the letter had received three dozen additional signatures as of Monday morning.

(63,221 posts)This is great, but what would be even better would be if women started coming out w/ stories about Kavanaugh specifically.

He belonged to a secret society that was nicknamed "Tits and clits" at Yale. Not hard to imagine what that was about.
Sometimes these creeps change in the years after college, but while in school they think they have a god-given right to women's bodies.

(8,922 posts)support from the students from the specific years who were there when Kavenaugh was there, hopefully who could speak to his reputation at the time. If not more than to just say, "yeah, we knew him, and we could see this happening". Better yet, someone else he attacked in that same time period, which would likely be the final nail in his coffin.

(638 posts)If there are any more out there I hope they have the courage to come forward. It would seem like they are referring to other stories. From personal experience I know that part is hard especially with all the right wing crazies out there. I never had to deal with that. Either way, I think there may not even be a hearing and the nomination will be withdrawn if this picks up.

(15,241 posts)It takes mega-$$s or great connections to get into these schools. Me and my kids all had to do with public schools in Montgomery and Fairfax counties (no sobs, tho.)

(56,828 posts)Tuition is $43,000/year at Holton Arms. School has around 650 students and about 100 teachers. So, 6.5 to 1 student teacher ratio.
Tuition is actually a bit cheaper than some of the elite prep/boarding schools in New England, believe it or not.
Choate in Wallingford, CT is $59,000 for boarding students (Several Kennedys went there, including JFK, as did the actor Michael Douglas and Ivanka Trump and many others I'm sure I'm forgetting.)

(43,161 posts)will be very helpful because there was no way of knowing where he would go in life. Such evidence would corroborate her experience and show she's not just making it up.
Donald Trump may have to say he doesn't want a Supreme Court Justice who grabs 'em by the p___y.

(26,735 posts)The letter doesn't say "we heard of this Brett kid at the time and knew he was bad news". These are alumnae from around the time he learned to walk until this year who are essentially saying "attempted rape definitely happens and happened to some of us".
I'm not sure where that gets us.

(43,161 posts)what did she tell anyone else at the time, and perhaps a counselor over the years, and would any of them provide corroboration of her account

(26,735 posts)There were four guys at the party. Two have been named and she doesn't remember the other two. She didn't tell anyone at all until 30 years later when she told a marriage counselor and her husband. The counselor has notes that mostly corroborate that her story hasn't changed in the last six years... but doesn't get us any closer to finding one of the two remaining men at the party.
