Wasn't that Condileeza Rice sitting behind Kavanaugh one morning? I was certain that it was, because of the eyes! That woman has the most terrifying eyes I have ever seen, looking sideways, looking up, half-shaded, positively villainous. It may be just a physical feature, but it almost strikes me as something she has practiced over the years after finding it pretty effective in getting her way.

So they stuck Condi back there to prove they actually Do have some black folks in the GOP.
She was used as a token and it (rightfully so) pissed her off.

He thinks Kavanaugh’s gonna throw in the towel.

I’m not so sure. I think this is gonna turn into an ego thing if it hasn’t already. I expect he wants it BAD, because he can just taste the smoldering barbecued bones of Roe v Wade and desperately wants to be THE guy who brought it down. Even more so now, since it’s a woman speaking up and throwing his formerly sure-thing nomination into serious jeopardy. He doesn’t want the embarrassment of Bork 2.0 on his resume. He can taste that lifetime appointment and how distinguished he’d be, especially if he can kill Roe v Wade. The Christofascist contingent would be praying to HIM every morning and every night.

Frankly, I’d be fearful for ANY case involving women’s rights that’d come before the Court if he were on it - that he’d be tempted to vote it down just for revenge on the “uppity” woman/women who fought to block his nomination. “So you didn’t want me in this job, ‘eh? Well how ‘bout I show you what I think about that?”

Petty? Sure. But we never thought we’d see another petty President after Nixon, did we? This asshole now makes Nixon look like St. John the Beloved Apostle.

he is truly despicable creature, I knew and told people before he got nominated.

He is a 100 percent partisan hack, and I agree he won't want to let it go.

However, there is a good chance he gets the plug pulled on him - they find a way to leverage him out some way, either by coercing him in some way or buying off in some way.

on exactly that. Trying to come up with some kind of “graceful out” for their boy Brett. Like, suddenly he’s offered some hugely distinguished university president’s job or some such.

in this quickie “news conference” he’s behaving himself more or less about Kavanaugh.

I’m guessing somebody important (Bill Shine?) is sitting on his phone. There’ve been NO pissant tweets, no attacking the woman who’s come forward, no calling her nasty names, none of that.

Somebody must have gotten through to him in some small way. Wonder how long that’ll hold? This is NOT him OR his favorite style of response or posturing.

this and it was bound to come up during the hearings. He should drop out, anyone that has history such as this doesn't deserve the one of the highest court appointments in the country. He's putting the country to shame w/ his bald faced lies, and attempts to hide this under the mat. I am just sorry about his family putting up with this, but he did make his bed, no one else did, and he deserves the consequences of his actions, although delayed by decades, his despicable actions are coming back home to haunt him, as they haunted his victim.

Did he tell a Republican on the committee that he didn't go to the party that Dr. Ford described? How does he know this? If he does, he must know when and where it was, maybe who else was there.

And there are the 65 women who knew him years ago who all signed a letter supporting him - until they didn't. Last I heard, all but two stayed firmly behind him.

I hope others come forward who can back her up. We'll have to see. Heck, it's only Tuesday.
