Will Chief Justice Roberts be the swing vote on the Supreme Court?

Alito, Gorsuch,Kavanaugh, and Thomas are hard-line Conservatives.
We should have a real life Pelican Brief on one of the Conservative Supreme Court Justices in 2020. The Democratic controlled US Senate should schedule a vote after the 2020 US Presidential Election-allowing the next POTUS appoint the next Supreme Court Justice.

Though I could see Gorsuch as an occasional swing vote on issues that Scalia would have gone his own way with.

He doesn't seem warm to the idea of hosting the most extreme court with a record of terrible decisions. Then again, it just might be the last court there is if rightwingers keep blowing shit up.

I would say yes if it wasn't for Citizens United. Roberts seem to be comfortable nibbling at the edges, but not changing past rulings, except for Citizens United, but even there his Court seemed to take a step back from CU with it's recent ruling on dark money contributors must be identified. Since the Court has 8 justices, it seems that Roberts would have sided with the liberals on the dark money ruling.

I think a repeal of Roe v Wade may be a bridge too far for Roberts, even with Kavanaught or some other anti abortion zealot on the bench.
