What's going on here? Aides quietly stunned by Trump's respectful handling of Kavanaugh accuser

You ever meet someone who was so habitually nasty that it made people suspicious when they were nice? That's kinda how this story is making me feel.

http://www.cnn.com/2018/09/20/politics/donald-trump-kavanaugh-accuser/index.html

"White House aides who steeled themselves for what President Donald Trump would say when he finally addressed the sexual assault allegation against his Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh were quietly stunned when Trump said the process should be followed and the accuser should be heard."

But at least he didn't use the word or words we all can easily imagine him saying.

Kavanaugh might have admitted privately the incident happened, and that maybe some other things did too.

I mean, the "What happens at GP stays at GP" sentence probably means something.

But they are hoping the boot-licking GOP Senators will push him through before it comes out. But Trump wants an escape hatch.

This is a guy with multiple divorces, quietly hushed tales of indiscretions and likely physical abuse. He might not be able to keep his lid on in other situations, but this is one where the terrain is familiar to the scumbag.

He used his speech to talk about how awful things are for poor poor ... Kavanaugh. Such a great guy, such a horrible thing to happen to anyone. No, not attempted rape but to be accused (credibly) of attempted rape. Then as a passing phrase, yeah, "the accuser" should be heard.

Nothing about taking the accusation seriously, respecting women, or anything half way decent. He stood up for an accused sexual assaulter.

Just because he didn't call her a bitch and say she deserved it, his aides are "stunned"?
