Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has worn many hats over the course of her storied career, but one job she never had was babysitting a president.
Clinton appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Friday and weighed in on many issues facing the country, from the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to a president potentially being subpoenaed or even indicted.
She also discussed why she thinks our democracy is in crisis, explaining the dramatic shift in philosophy and attitude from President Barack Obamas tenure to that of President Donald Trump.
So you never had to steal a treaty off [Obamas] desk, Colbert joked. He was referring to journalist Bob Woodwards new book, Fear: Trump in the White House, in which Woodward says staffers repeatedly removed documents from Trumps desk, fearing the consequences of his impulsive decisions.
I never had to steal a treaty off his desk, no, Clinton replied.

(51,590 posts)and I saw her on Rachel Maddow this week. Every time I listen to either Hillary or Obama I feels like a sense of relief has come over me...as though everything will be OK since there are sane, thoughtful politicians who care about the country. Then I get really depressed since they aren't the ones making decisions that effect us all.
