The Roe vs. Wade Paradox.

It never ceases to amaze me, that politicians, judges, etc. like BK want to see it overturned... and yet, every so often, it pops up that a hard right conservative had their ass, marriage, etc. saved by it due to their "antics".

And yet, time and time again, Conservative Evangelicals keep voting these guys in and turn a blind eye hoping "this time" Roe vs. Wade will be overturned.

And yet, even if it was, the matter would go back to the states and getting a constitutional amendment to ban abortion is next to impossible.

And then there is the other paradox, the number of abortions can be reduced with more sex education, easy/cheap access to contraception, improvement and funding in child fostering and adoption, etc. And when I tell this to evangelicals, they don't want to hear it. Just want to make it illegal and think it will all go away...Prohibition never works, be it a product or prevention of a frowned upon social norm.

They are against it until it happens to them, but when it does, they use it and just sweep it under the rug.

They have no problem with rich and powerful men having their way with women. They do have a problem with anything that empowers women, like contraception, sex education, or holding men responsible for sexual assault.

The Evangelicals reasoning for making abortion illegal is also about power and control over a woman too. Barefoot and pregnant is their goal.

Who would have sex with the chinless oaf? Who would not insist that he wear a condom? And it was only when she aborted and realized he had slipped the drugs into her smoothie that she decided he was a bad guy? Miller used her as a plaything. So I agree that it was all about power and control over her body.

BP, as much as I hate to sound like I'm blaming the victim here, there sure are a lot of dumb women falling for these assholes. It makes me wonder if they are just willing to do anything for money and power or if they are totally clueless. Is it part of our culture that she just accepted her role? Did she think he was going to leave his wife and marry her because she was pregnant? Really hard to fathom what she was thinking.

elude both of us. Every time I saw him on CNN I immediately turned the channel. Love is blind (and usually deaf and dumb too). Men often say women are evil bitches that screw with men's hearts, but from my 56 years on this planet I see more women destroyed due to loving a loser than men by a long shot.
