Whether the allegations are proven or not, has the vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh become too politically toxic for Republican senators to take? Will he, somehow, nudge Kavanaugh out, press PreSident Trump to nominate someone new and try to get the nominee through in the lame-duck?”

McConnell sold his soul when he decided to block pretty much everything Obama tried to accomplish. He overstepped big time with denying Merrick Garland the opportunity of a vote. As leader, he has single handedly trashed the decorum of the Senate.

prosecute a sitting Supreme Court Justice.

If convicted, the impeachment and removal would be much easier as GOP would have to defend a convicted sexual abuser prior to 2020 or 2022 elections

Kavanaugh has sworn personal fealty to drumpf and Russian repugs and they have to have him in place to protect the so-called president and themselves from charges of conspiracy and treason. Is there another judge out there as venal as Kavanaugh, who gives no shits about the country, it's constitution or the working class/poor? They don't want to go down that path, they already have their stooge to protect them, they don't want to have to find someone else as morally compromised as Kavanaugh.
