The Irony Is That Rosenstein Will Be Fired Based on McCabe's Leaked Notes...

...and McCabe, of course, was pissed at Rosenstein because Rosenstein gave Trump a pretext for firing Comey.

McCabe was later fired because Trump accused him of dishonesty!

Yet, based on McCabe’s notes, Trump is going to try to force Rosenstein to resign or fire him.

The AG and FBI screw up and deny Hillary Clinton her rights to a confidential and thorough investigation with prejudicial statements and leaks (see McCabe's self serving leak). Trump benefits from it by winning the election.

He then uses the mistakes to fire those who helped him, perhaps inadvertently, to get elected.

A man one step from the top of his field inexplicably put his job on the line by committing a highly questionable violation. This obvious and public action immediately caused him to be investigated by both the FBI's internal investigators and the OIG, both of which recommended he be fired. Criminal charges were also recommended, though not brought. Best to bury it.

This occurred right before the 2016 election. The one illicit action we know of, that is.

Now, he's producing notes composed by him claiming that Rosenstein committed a highly questionable action. His account is contradicted by Rosenstein himself and others present and is given decreased credibility by the circumstances in which this was supposed to have occurred.

My response isn't "ironic," but rather suspicion that McCabe is not really really unemployed but is acting as an agent of powers who desperately need to stop the Mueller investigation. We already know McCabe is not a man of integrity and fully capable of betraying his duty to his country.

I always wondered about all the sympathy he engendered from our side when he was fired.

I still think they were trying to thread the needle. Clinton was lock to get elected, but Comey, McCabe, and others wanted to make sure she didn't have both houses of Congress.

They succeeded a little too well. I wonder if they will ever admit to it.

because of one of his silly personal grievances, instead of protecting a traitor who helped elect him. But since Trump turned his spite and malice on him, some among us inexplicably rushed to embrace a traitor. (Oh, my people!)

Your "thread the needle" theory seems entirely plausible. Comey and others we know of are only agents of far bigger powers, of course. I'm sure of that.

Notably, although the Kochs don't want their agents in congress to lose control of the house this year, they are willing to see that happen to get more of a check on Trump through Democrats. They are not at all willing to lose control of the senate, however, and I'm sure others like them feel the same. Their bloodless coup through the courts and legislatures is still far from complete. And presumably these plotters will be wanting to take and keep control of all 3 houses in 2020.
