Or maybe not. They're pretty effed up.

Those pesky Ten Commandments are only for other people to obey.

hence the strategy to convince the rubes this is a court case and not a job interview,

they want Republicans to believe it doesn't matter as long as it can not be proven.

... otherwise any spurious accusation would be enough to bring down any aspirant for office. There is photographic evidence of Al Franken acting like an ass, and I believe there strong evidence that Roy Moore was banned from a shopping mall for harassing young women. Like it or not, what we have so far is a he said/she said situation. Granted there are two shes, soon to be three, sort of like what was happening with Bill Clinton. But without corroborating hard evidence, it all comes down to who you choose to believe. Public opinion will be a factor in whether K is confirmed or not. At this point there is no overwhelming cry from the gallery for dropping him.

Have they bothered to listen to women who claim otherwise? Are they being objective and listening to both sides? Are they willing to have the FBI investigate?

Nope.

That's why a rapist would be made to marry his victim. Basically a "you break it you buy it" policy.

17. "You and I read the Bible very differently"

It's become my go-to answer for religious discussions with conservative folks. Based on Hawkeye's response to Black Widow's statement at the beginning of the climactic battle against the alien invaders in the first Avengers movie: Black Widow says "This is just like Budapest all over again," and Hawkeye says, "You and I remember Budapest very differently."

Non-judgmental. Nothing about "I'm right and you're wrong." Can't even say that I've demeaned their position. Just the simple declaration that I read the Bible very differently from the other person, which by that time is indisputable.
