Hearing this bullshit argument on MSNBC.
Fact: anyone tRump nominates and the Senate confirms is going to be a conservative, most likely a raging conservative. Theres nothing we can do about that.
However, what they will NOT be is a combination of who and what Kavanaugh is:
- an accused sex abuser
- a person put on the court SPECIFICALLY to shield tRump from indictment
- a person who has perjured himself numerous times before the Senate
- a person who will vote to overturn Roe
- a person who spent decades as a dirty tricks operative for the GOP
Let them nominate someone farther to the right of Kavanaugh. They will all vote the same way when it comes to policy. Its Kavanaughs extra baggage that is the problem here.

The FACT that Roe and Griswold and practically all other rights are gone is a done deal, for now.
We may get them back someday, maybe.

did NOT have to happen
And if they are not ALL gone, they could be...which is the FUCKING POINT

But I still think it's more important to prevent his appointment.

It's called the "Keep Junior Out of Jail" case.

(24,412 posts)Trump has to stand for re-election in 2 years at which time the American public can vote him out (plus a Democratic Congress can help constrain him for the next 2 years if they win one or both chambers). Kavanaugh would be on the Court for the rest of his life or until he retires and would require an extraordinary vote in Congress to remove him, something BTW is not likely to happen with Trump either.

(39,405 posts)Democrats should learn a lesson from Republicans and use delay as a weapon.
It would be nice to at least get someone who isn't from the Federalist Society bench, if such a conservative exists.

(8,678 posts)That is the key reason they are working so hard to get this guy on board. Kavajerk has sold his soul to the GOP and Trump and will vote however they want him to as long as he is confirmed.
