Bill Cosby, Brett Kavanaugh and the Power of a Woman
Watching the waste laid by both Bill Cosby and Brett Kavanaugh to women and their hopes and dreams. Their trust and their innocence.
It leads me to think of my Niece.
V was born struggling to survive. There were things wrong with her and she got transferred to a different hospital that had the equipment to help her.
I don't remember what was wrong exactly except she struggled.
Later on it was determined, when she was 4 or 5 years old, that she had aspergers. Because of what happened in birth.
She stuggled in special ed and had very difficult elementary school years.
She had a strong and loving grandmother who helped her out until she got sick.
Early on her parents divorced and that made it harder on her. By 9 she was cutting herself, saying she hated herself.
My sister had her in therapy to deal with the special ed, aspergers and now, cutting.
It wasn't until she was a few years older that she finally told her therapist her father was sexually abusing her. Not rape but, other things.
My sister fought for her father to be put away to pay for what he did.
At this point please do not say you are sorry.
Because by the time she got to high school she was in regular classes.
Ran in Track and
Graduated Cum Laud.
She is now in Community College.
The girl has a core of steel.
Forged by her mother.
It does not matter your economic circumstances, the strikes against you. If you have a kick ass mother who will believe you, go to bat for you, fight for you and help you. Will listen, understand, be progressive and open, you will come out the other side.
Two very strong ladies with two very strong black lady kitties that they adopted very young.
