But the crazy base lives on, and Trump can use them to threaten sitting Senators, they can't win without them, and some of them are women. Evangelical mostly, but women none the less.

That angry performance is what I call “the big swinging dick” approach. “I’m loud, I’m belligerent, I’m mean, you’d better be afraid of me.”
At the end of the rant I half-expected him to stand on the table, rip off his shirt, beat on his chest, and give out a Tarzan yell.
