(253 posts)Eloquent speakers do not say I worked my tail off, I was the captain of the basketballl team and instead would say I did well academically and excelled in athletics or something to that effect. I heard lots of dees and dos from him instead of these and those. The way he refers to his high school and college friends as Johnny D etc is odd. Im sure if the transcript of his testimony was run through a grade-level speech scale it would be right there with T.rumps and nowhere near Dr. Fords

(20,577 posts)He will comb the legal cases to come up with the ruling the GOP wants. As David Brock said, he was the go-to guy for leaks and figuring out ways to embarrass the Clintons.
He is NOT a great legal mind but rather a social climber and sycophant - intelligent people do not allow their thinking to be guided by that.

(53,410 posts)Uber conservative people are not intelligent in terms of actually thinking. They are intelligent in terms of how smart they are in working against any and all equality for those who are different from them.

(13,225 posts)that Kavanaugh is completely lacking.
A good judge not only can interpret the law but has the ability to show compassion and empathy. They can bring people with different view to a consensus. The are open-minded, patient and unbiased. They set personal feelings aside.
Kavanaugh gets a F. I don't care if he was first in his class. He is unfit.

(38,311 posts)Use it or lose it, brains and brawn.
This guy lost it a long time ago.
There are children of privilege who discover the joys of intellectual exercise and strive to make the world a better place to the very best of their ability.
And then there are the crass, incurious fools who believe their high position in society a birthright.
Kavanaugh is a crass incurious fool. As such his intelligence, or lack of intelligence, is of no consequence. He is a venal, vain, and dissembling man who can bring no good to our Supreme Court.
