the mother of one of my son's team mates, who is from California, and is living her in Ireland now. She said she was in a school classroom that was 100% African American, yet the class was 50-50 Democrat - Repub. That other 50% were generational Republicans (parents, grandparents etc) due to the Lincoln-Republican link, but had not moved even after the 1964 intake of Southern Democrats. I can see how that generational voting can happen in our own politics here in Ireland, but how can you be content in what is such an overtly racist party like the GOP ?
