(16,878 posts)I Got to know Jim back in 2005 when Amy announced her run for the Senate here in Minnesota. Jim was a writer for the Star-Tribune out of Minneapolis for many years.
Everything I see Amy, I always ask her abou her dad. I saw her this past June and talked with her in length at the State DFL convention we here in Rochester, hosted. She gave me a hug when she told me he was not well. I hugged her back.

(82,849 posts)With the advantage of getting to think about it a little bit, and in preparation for the next time (because there will be a next time), I hope Sen. Klobuchar practices a withering stare. Kavanaugh's snotty comment to her was so far out of line, it would have been very effective if she had just stared him down until he apologized on the spot. His weak apology later (I'm guessing after someone got it through to him just how offensive his remark had been) would have been insufficient for a five-year-old, let alone a nominee to the Supreme Court.

But, she is the only one, so far, who actually refers to Kavanaugh's opinion about expanding the powers of the President.
One has to question - rhetorically - had Clinton, with his own legal problems appointed such a jurist, would the conservatives so enthusiastically supported the nominee?

One Week no longer. And only the FBI investigation to cover those questions already raised.
