(37,334 posts)People eat this shit up. Sigh.
You guys aren't convinced about the "sketchy" things he outlined in such detail?
I'm not sure he has ever delivered anything of note. He probably has but his breathless announcements of things to come (with countless disappointments that followed) are signs that he shouldn't be regarded as a reliable investigative journalist.

(23,611 posts)at the hearing yesterday? I know folks say Lindey's tantrum was a job interview performance for the AG. While I agree that it may be, could it also be that he really needs the Judge Quaalude on the SCOTUS in order to protect his own ass?

(9,355 posts)So, everyone, including me, thought Sen. Lindsey Graham's performance this week was about him wanting to be the Attorney General. Well, this provides another reason for him sucking up to Donald Trump. Sen. Graham knows as well as all of us that Trump supports people who support him whether they are guilty, or not guilty. This was not the time for Sen. Graham, if he was thinking about his own self interest, to take a hard stance against Trump. Standing up to Trump due to the actions of his Supreme Court nominee would have made it hard for Graham to get support from Trump on this issue. Now Trump is likely to be fully in Graham's corner.

(6,991 posts)I can quite easily believe that there is something to the fact that Graham probably IS doing something wrong that does deserve to be investigated.
The way he acted out yesterday by making a complete fool of himself. How embarrassing he was. He hates women, and I also believe and feel comfortable in feeling that he's being blackmailed. Not sure if it's by tRump or his puppet master putin or by BOTH of them.
Graham's INSANE.

You really believe this bullshit?
The Democratic Coalition, and Scott Dworkin have zero standing to file any charges in any court.
Only Federal/State/Local DA's have the authority to file any charges.
This is nothing more than grandstanding and fundraising by those idiots at Democratic Coalition.
I can't believe people on this site take this seriously.
Bfd
(1,406 posts)it here.
I may not be as knowlegable as some longtime posters here, but as I said, if nothing comes of the report he says he will have out this weekeend I guess he isn't able to do what he claims.
Frankly, regardless of what anyone thinks of him, I am willing to give it a week.
I generally stick to a narrow bunch on twitter who have been reliable with facts & checking out who posts what.
This is one I wasn't too familiar with but found it interesting.
So I shared it here.
I don't appreciate being, as you said, " LfkingOL" d at for it however.
That really wasn't necessary.
I wouldn't have used those words against someone I may disagree with.
Just want you to know that about me.

(1,058 posts)I wasn't laughing at you, I was laughing at the notion that Democratic Coalition thinks they actually have the standing to file ANY charges against ANYONE, they don't.
They've done this many times, all this is is grandstanding and fundraising,
If you go to their website, the first thing that pops up is a page for donations, that should tell you what they're all about.
Welcome to DU.

(4,337 posts)Trump and/or the rest of the criminal Repig establishment have something on Lindsay, and it is very, very ugly. I can't imagine what he may be hiding. It simply may be that Lindsay doesn't realize that everybody already knows he's gay, and he's so in the closet he just is clueless.
HOWEVER, I think it's something more nefarious. While I have always loathed the piece of shit, he is worse now than ever. I'm very curious to know what they have on him.

(21,230 posts)Buried in the campaign finance reports available to the public are some troubling connections between a group of wealthy donors with ties to Russia and their political contributions to President Donald Trump and a number of top Republican leaders. And thanks to changes in campaign finance laws, the political contributions are legal. We have allowed our campaign finance laws to become a strategic threat to our country.
Data from the Federal Election Commission show that Blavatnik's campaign contributions dating back to 2009-10 were fairly balanced across party lines and relatively modest for a billionaire. During that season he contributed $53,400. His contributions increased to $135,552 in 2011-12 and to $273,600 in 2013-14, still bipartisan.
In 2015-16, everything changed. Blavatnik's political contributions soared and made a hard right turn as he pumped $6.35 million into GOP political action committees, with millions of dollars going to top Republican leaders including Sens. Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham.

(1,406 posts)This thing with Graham is a lot like Kavanaugh or Trump.
We know its true, its against our moral & human code of conduct, but we just have to stand here feeling helpless untill those with the power to do so can finally stop the disease from spreading any further.
We are a people of belief & trust that the power of good will win in the end.

(14,971 posts)And Trump or the Russians might have something on Lindsay Graham but a more likely explanation for Grahams sucking up to Trump is that hes up for re-election in 2020 and Trump has high approval ratings among Rs in SC.

(1,406 posts)I have nothing to form an opinion of him, yet.
This was on my twitter feed and I thought it was interesting enough to post it here.
Whatever Dworkin is or isn't, he's apparantly not telling us anything we don't already suspect.
Guess I'll watch for his report he says he'll present this weekend.
I'd like to see him held to that claim he makes.
Not so much for Dworkin's behalf, but for ours.
Graham couldn't have given himself up any better than he did during this hearing.
Its not as though people in places of power also didn't take note of the acts of desperation.
Red flags were being waved everywhere.
I just hope the people with the power to stop this political nightmare hurry up.

(13,877 posts)Especially when there are other corroborating sources and stories. It's a poorly kept secret for most Republicans. It has been said many times that after this, the Republican Party, as we knew it, will be a thing of the past. The Moderates are leaving in droves...some very high profile. Leaving the virtual former Tea Partiers to slime up the process.

(7,659 posts)kind of nothing news wrapped in a somewhat misleading banner, but I think this is normal for that group. That being said, I think it's kind of short-sighted to let the internal feud here between XXXXXX haters and XXXXXX haters to get in the way of a combined front against the Republican fascists.
