As a non-alcoholic I have been to many meetings and travel in their circle. Many who truly follow the steps become wonderful people. To those doing it in good faith, repenting and honesty are big.

Thankfully the FBI holds a person providing them information to a more enforceable standard.

(61,695 posts)3. I received a letter asking for forgiveness by
a close relative who had "wronged" her family. She was very brave to do that. We became good friends after she fixed her life as best she could. I loaned her money multiple times when she needed it, and she always paid me back without me asking for it.
She's in heaven now, I suspect.
