Pure Speculation-Does anyone think that FBI is now vetting Trump's #2 nominee?

I would not be surprised to hear that the FBI vetting of Trump's second choice for this SCOTUS seat has either started or will be starting before the Friday deadline

retirement of current judges. one hopes dems take the senate in nov. to reduce potential damage. clarence thomas may choose to retire knowing trump will choose his replacement.

Palin was supposed to cancel out Clinton, and this Barrett person on Trump's list cancels out Ford.

At least, that seems to be what Republican men believe.

a replacement on the DC Circuit Court of Appeals? What happens to Kavboy if the FBI finds him to be a serial liar? Can he keep his current job on the court?

... vetting an alternate choice (or two) from the outset, in anticipation of Kavanaugh not getting enough votes.

Remember that McConnell told Trump to choose "anyone but Kavanaugh". So he's obviously aware of things in Kavanaugh's past that could pose problems if found out.

I doubt he knew about the sexual molestation - so there must be something else he was concerned about, which would also explain Kavanaugh's obvious fear about a further FBI investigation.
