It is finally beginning to dawn on Lisa Murkowski and Jeff Flake that they have power. There are only two of them but they have more power than the entire Democratic minority. And the Republican majority can pass nothing without their vote or without Democratic support. They have more power, in many respects, than the maniac in the White House. He cannot plow thru the Senate, with only the assistance of Mitch McConnell.
It may not be a profile in courage but it could be a profile in consciousness? Why haven't any Republicans stood up to Trump up to this point? It is a good question.
The White House cannot be happy with this decision by Flake and Murkowski. Trump is forced to agree to an investigation by the FBI. The FBI! His nemesis and his most hated enemy.
We can only hope that others join Flake and Murkowski. They could take their Party back. But that might be a little optimistic? The Trump Party's corruption cannot be healed overnight.
