It isn't just anger. I want then to pay. I don't care if they live on another planet (Foxworld). They know they are evil, and cruel, and their actions hurt "others".
They know.
They don't care.
They need to pay for their actions.
Somehow "Real Americans" need to rise up and put their evil, lying, treasonous asses in place.
How? I don't know. Prison would be the first word that comes to mind..... Asylums the next word.... How about Siberia?

(2,187 posts)We camt exactly make billionaires pay for what they've done (ie. This sad state of affairs),and the GOP Republiscums are only their tools that they've paid off. If it wasn't this batch of GOP'ers, it would be another. The Mercers, the Koch brothers, the Murdochs and unknown others - they're the ones truly responsible for this. They need to learn that just because they've made/stolen money does NOT mean they get to run the world. Tonight there are plenty of pissed off billionaires and I couldn't be happier.

(14,495 posts)Republican politicians are just psychopathic minions for the wealthy who cleverly hide in the dark. Americans rarely see or hear from them, yet they control many aspects of our everyday lives. I fear this evil twist from human evolution that so many have come to celebrate will ultimately bring the world to its economic knees.
One thing we can bet our boots on: so long as wealthy people are allowed to use their money to influence our governments in any significant way, this problem AND economic inequality is sure to get worse.
In the long term, because of the vast extent of their wealth, I currently see no practical way to reverse this destructive process, even if we win both houses of Congress. They will simply rebound and pour billions more into gerrymandering, lobbying and the outright buying of elections, along with further right-wing encroachment into our culture, educational systems and media.
However, you're right in that it feels good to see those folks get an occasional slap on the hand.

(1,474 posts)with the same self-serving beliefs as the Republicans. "I have mine, so if the poor starve, so what?". I really hope America does not go down a similar road, but it is possible. I get so angry at repugs that I often must be careful about what I say or write. I live in a small, North Texas Town. There are so many Fox-Watching repugs here that even venting to associates can be frightening.

(1,580 posts)I'd start by surveying which states are paying the most into federal coffers via taxes. Then I'd up the federal match on any project to 50%, not the current 10%. Identify all of the government subsidies and start figuring out which ones to cut. Hit em where it hurts, in their pocket books.
Kill the electoral college. Equally count all US citizen votes no matter where they live. The EC has only made it easier for the Repubs to win elections when their candidates have fewer votes. Federal law for equal representation for Congress to try and eliminate gerrymandering.
Hopefully we won't have another major recession to deal with so we can get some real reforms past. The Great Recession took too much attention away from the last time we had full control. The Dems fixed it and still got blamed for everything involved with that mess.

(7,142 posts)is go to paper ballots. Today we vote into a black hole where our votes can't be audited.
We used to monitor elections in other countries and one of the tools we used was exit polling. Exit polling, contrary to the narrative being fed to us in America, is a reliable indicator to who won. Funny how exit polling stopped being a reliable indicator of who won since we went to electronic voting.
