'Leave me alone': Mike Pence's wife reportedly refused to kiss him after Trump won

Michael Lewis, the author of "Moneyball" and "The Big Short," wrote in an article in The Guardian published Thursday that Vice President Mike Pence's wife, Karen Pence, was less than pleased with President Donald Trump's victory in the moments after he won the 2016 election.

Lewis wrote that after Trump won, the vice president tried to kiss his wife, who turned away and said: "You got what you wanted, Mike. Now leave me alone."

Lewis' article centers on the problems Trump had with his transition team but contains behind-the-scenes stories from the election night.

Lewis also said Trump sat staring at the TV in disbelief when he saw he'd won.

Vice President Mike Pence tried to kiss his wife, Karen Pence, in the minutes after Donald Trump won the presidential election in November 2016, but she reportedly turned away from him and said: "You got what you wanted, Mike. Now leave me alone."

Meanwhile, Karen Pence "wouldn't so much as say hello to Trump," Michael Lewis, the author of "Moneyball" and "The Big Short," wrote in a Guardian long read based on several interviews with Trump insiders and published Thursday.

The unintentional satire doesn’t even need a re-write. Word-for-word, it’s perfect.

She went along like a good patriarchal-political wife but there is no warmth or partnership. Both are trapped by their religious and political roles.
This is what they want for all of us--uptight marriages where our roles dictate everything.
Time to free ourselves.

is what makes Pence so dangerous. Misery loves company.

tRump is an idiot, but Pence is a manipulative snake.

If only we could reset everything to factory condition--as in President Obama's last day, and continue to build on his progress. We could erase the idiot, his entire administration, and everything they have done.

we ALL sat staring at the TV in disbelief when he saw he'd won.

It doesn't seem either wife was pleased that the Repugs had won on that fateful night. I don't know what Karen Pence's problem was, but IMO Melly didn't want to leave her NYC lifestyle behind. Perhaps KP didn't want to make the change either. She probably had a pretty calm, secure life in Indiana, and was now thrust into the DC jungle. It's not for everyone.

but like Melly's "Be Best" campaign, haven't heard anything beyond the initial announcement.

I, on the other hand, am announcing I'm going to bring about world peace, cure cancer, eliminate global warming, clean every known waterway, and insure every American becomes a millionaire. I expect to have as much success as Melly and Karen in my endeavors.

If so, it’s probably just a marriage of convience now.

If you marry a man like Mike Pence, you would probably hate a man like Trump, the polar opposite to Pence.
