Ted Cruz reminds me of a Mudpuppy.

A slimy lizard like fish. Whenever I see him on TV he creeps me out.

Just in case there is any confusion, and also because I like these critters that much, I'm chiming in.

A Mudpuppy is a very large, fully aquatic salamander (amphibian) that is interesting for having true gills even in adulthood.

A Mudskipper is about the coolest fish around IMHO. It can survive, and even thrive, for relatively long periods of time in the air on wet mudflats. Those little critters are both ugly and oh so cute.

And yes, Ted seems a bit like a mudpuppy to me, especially in personality. My apologies to all mudpuppies out there.
