Is Rosenstein involved in the limited scope FBI investigation this week? How many ways can this charade be rigged?

(129,882 posts)He's not in charge of the FBI. Chris Wray is. Rosenstein is only overseeing the Mueller investigation in lieu of the Keebler Elf at the departmental level.

(7,671 posts)If there is an FBI Investigation Into Kavanaugh, Another Yale Law Alum Will Be In Charge
by Elie Mystal Sept. 28, 2018
If all that happens from the Brett Kavanaugh experience is that the next Supreme Court nominee whoever he or she is and whenever he or she is nominated is NOT from Yale Law School or Harvard Law School, it would be something. The incestuous grip of the top law schools on many of the levers of justice in this country has been unmasked. For the love of Christ, there are 203 other ABA-accredited law schools out there. Lets try any place else.
If youve been following along, you know that Jeff Flake (and not Lisa Murkowski and Joe Manchin) have asked for a one-week delay in the floor vote for Brett Kavanaugh, so that an F.B.I. investigation can be conducted into the claims against him.
The only person who can order the F.B.I. to do this is Donald Trump. He can order his handpicked F.B.I. director, Chris Wray, to re-open the background check into Kavanaugh.
I had forgotten this, but Chris Way is a proud graduate of Yale Law School. And he went to Yale for college. Just like Brett Kavanaugh. Listen to your friend, Mike Sacks:
Now that Flake has made his support contingent upon an FBI Investigation, worth noting FBI Director Chris Wray was two years behind Kavanaugh at Yale and Yale Law, where they both entered into the same conservative legal circles that would land them in the Bush Admininstration.

Guardian reporter Stephanie Kirchgaessner notes that there is another player whos part of the Yale mafia:
Like Brett Kavanaugh, the FBI director Chris Wray graduated from Yale undergrad and Yale Law School. Both were top students, and Wray was a few years younger. Wray knew Alex Azar, I have been told, who was a good friend of Kavanaugh.

Of course as a side note that I think most of DU knows, both Clintons also went to Yale Law school (and Poppy & Shrub went to Yale as undergrads). But you had Obama (among others) who went to Harvard Law school. So there are always the back and forth between the 2 groups too.

(129,882 posts)But as an extra fyi - Rosenstein graduated from Harvard Law School, but oddly enough, he was born here in Philly but grew up in a 'burb just outside not to far from where I live.

Brett Kavanaugh and Rod Rosenstein both learned to 'tune out the noise' while investigating President Clinton. Now they're at the center of it

(9,527 posts)Automatically assuming the worst in everything with no evidence is silly. Especially if the guy you're theorizing about is also the guy who clearly hasn't interfered with the Mueller investigation.
