Certainly there's a big clue there.

I mean, does anyone really think our senators on the judicial committee didn't know from the first minute of the agreement that the Republicans, including Trump, would do their best to quash investigation? Including various ways they might try that we're not even aware of? They were already in war huddle in that back conference room when the hearing ended.

The FBI report, btw, is submitted to Trump. No need to worry that they don't know all that could mean and aren't already planning for each contingency, though.

wad it up and toss it in the trash..

Dems have no power to affect anything, and are totally ignored..

and (mark my words) IF we ever DO get power in the senate, we will "move forward"/"get past the unpleasantness"/"try to be bi-partisan", etc ad nauseum

until we lose power again and get our faces ground into the dirt..

rinse/repeat

I am NOT one of those Dems. Too many repeats...no more "we take the high road, turn the other cheek, reach across the isle" nonsense. Where does that get US? Right where we are...in living Hell! I am one who is sick and tired of GOP shit for the majority of my life...since 1980 and my first chance to vote. I have voted straight Dem in every single election from local to Fed. Wages are stagnant and that trickle down shit has ever worked. The GOP is the party of corrupt, hypocritical, self absorbed, greedy sociopaths. I want to elect tough as nails Dems who FIGHT to win. I know half of the Dems want to take the high road, be willing to reach across the isle, etc. Obama tried it for 8 years and every time he reached across the isle the GOP gnawed off his hand. Yet, he kept trying. He saved the economy only to get zero credit and spat upon. I am voting for which ever candidate is going takes the gloves off when she/he is confronted with GOP BS. Turning the other cheek doesn't work with corrupt, lifelong sociopaths.

as long as our candidates continue to be go-along-to-get-alongs, they tend to care more about their own reelections and the money needed than they do about things that actually help people..

Dems tend to bring feather dusters to a gunfight and then threaten lawsuits when we lose.. I have been watching this melodrama for decades and I hope before I die, something good will happen..

The last effective president we had was LBJ

Carter was too decent
Clinton sold out
Obama was not vicious enough to win

but I realise people think the only people who exist are Democrats.

yes please ignore the contexual politics of the 70's, or the fact Clinton had to face an insane GOP majority in Congress. And of course the "Obama was weak" narrative is like the cherry on top the cake of absurdisms leveled at dems.

I mean the post is about Feinstein doing her due diligence as Senator in this matter and ........ of course we gotta get "Dems suck" in reply.

....your "last effective President" had this Congressional makeup:

Senate - 68 Democrats/32 republicans, House 295 Democrats/145 republicans.

I agree that Johnson was one of the greatest Presidents of my lifetime, but he enjoyed the benefit of some of the biggest majorities in BOTH houses of Congress.

On the other hand, with respect to those other three:

Jimmy Carter, although there were Democratic majorities in both houses, took over after about four years of either an absentee President or a totally unprepared, inept President, and inherited a recession and huge inflation (remember Gerald Ford's "Whip Inflation Now" program?)

Bill Clinton only had Democratic majorities in the House and Senate in the first two of his eight years.

Barack Obama had a Democratic majority in the Senate in the first six of his eight years, but a Democratic majority in only the first two of his eight years.

Presidents don't operate in a vacuum - they need to work with the House and the Senate, and without majorities in those houses it's an uphill battle.

Considering the Congresses that Carter, Clinton, and Obama had to work with, all three were highly effective.

If the drooling idjits in their MAGA hats are going to accuse us of being involved in a deep state government wide conspiracy to destroy their party and send their corrupt 'leaders' to jail because we're out to get them and make it possible for themselces to go to the doctor then I for one would like us to actually be guilty of that accusation, goddammit. I would like them to know, in no uncertain terms that YES we're coming for you if you're corrupt, and YES we planned it that way and YES every Democratic Congressperson supports it. He

According to what I've read and heard from former WH & FBI officials, the DOJ goes by what the president instructs. He may have tried to undermine the scope secretly, but when 45 tweeted that the scope was not limited, that would supersede prior directives.

She is 100% on target. This propagandist cabal in the Senate may want to control the narrative as usual, but after that naked attempt to edit reality while the cameras rolled on the events unfolding on the floor of Judiciary Committee Senate hearing this past week, there is zero chance of attaining good faith behavior.
