(51,593 posts)I thought they weren't getting anywhere in their investigation but I thought this was a good start. I wonder if they lied or not. We'll never know what they said since the public won't get the info, only the senators.

(15,286 posts)They didn't know each other, never went to any parties together, never had too much drink and certainly never assaulted any women.
The real key is Chris Garrett (aka "squi" , who went out with Dr Ford for at least a little while in the summer of 1982 and who, by her own testimony, introduced her to Kavanaugh.

"Chris Garrett, "Squi": Five Fast Facts You Need To Know" (Heavy.com)
Chris Garrett, the Brett Kavanaugh high school classmate who went by the nickname Squi, has denied possessing any information or knowledge that would be useful to vetting the claims of Dr. Christine Blasey Ford.
Garrett has popped up in several ways in the debate over the Kavanaugh accusations (he was mentioned in the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings into the allegations and his nickname appears in Kavanaughs calendar, for example).
However, the middle school teacher from another state has tried to keep a low profile, not speaking to the news media beyond a short statement released by his lawyer. MORE..https://heavy.com/news/2018/09/chris-garrett-squi/

(15,286 posts)has a good ed blog post about Garrett and his connection to the Ed Whelan "look-alike" theory.
https://talkingpointsmemo.com/
As I explained in posts Thursday and Friday, I do not find this at all a plausible coincidence. Almost certainly, Garrett was chosen based on the knowledge of someone who knew the social circles in question quite well. Whelan is a few years older than Kavanaugh and grew up in California. The most obvious person with that knowledge is Brett Kavanaugh. He and Whelan are close friends and were working together closely on Kavanaughs nomination.
Having investigated many stories as a journalist, I think it is highly probable that probing Whelans efforts would show that it was based on Kavanaughs information. If that is true its highly likely that Kavanaugh knows much more about this incident or at least about Blasey Ford than he has let on to. Put those facts together with the effort to concoct a bogus cover story, and I think it is highly likely that digging into the Whelan backstory would reveal evidence of Kavanaughs consciousness of guilt. Given the 36 years which separates us from the incident in question, thats probably as close as youll get to clear evidence of his guilt.

A lawyer for Mark Judge, a high school friend of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, says Judge has been interviewed by the FBI but his "interview has not been completed."
Attorney Barbara "Biz" Van Gelder issued the statement Monday.
Judge is one of multiple people the FBI has already interviewed as part of its reopened background investigation into Kavanaugh.
Christine Blasey Ford, a California college professor, has said Judge was in the room when a drunken Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they were teenagers in the early 1980s. Judge has denied the allegations, as has Kavanaugh.
Others who have spoken with the FBI include a Yale classmate who has said Kavanaugh exposed himself to her when they were students. - End.
