Question about your local politics.

I live in a very red county in East TN (Blount). We are next to Knoxville ( we have their airport). In our local campaigns GOP candidates are not participating in forums or debates. My state rep is a guy who was appointed (GOP of course). He has not attended any invited events with his opponent. Not one. Went to a Democratic gathering yesterday and our guy says his opponent does not return phone calls or answer emails. (Remember this guy was appointed, has never run).

The candidate for our US House seat also reports that her opponent who used to be Knox County Mayor does not respond to requests for forums or debates. He did do one TV forum with her on the local news. He appeared rude and disinterested and was flippant with his answers. Not one other appearance together. He ignored the request for the League of Women Voters.

Is this happening where y'all are? Or do we have the only group of entitled jerks who think they do not make an effort???

Also our Democratic Senate candidate (who was a great governor) can't get the horrific Marsha Blackburn (US Rep) to debate him more than once. Tonight he is at a forum in Chattanooga. She is at a $10,000/couple event in Johnson City with Trump. I am sure the Chattanooga event was planned first.

So are our GOP assholes unique???
