Is anyone listening to the breaking news about Trump's taxes?

He and his father were up to their hairlines in tax fraud, shell companies and tax evasion from the time Donald Trump was 8 years old. His father gave Trump millions of dollars for decades.
Trump always failed in all his endeavors and his father always bailed him out. Is father funneled money to Donald in dozens of money laundering and shell fronts.

Woohoo!!

Trump's approval rating has been steadily rising for 3 weeks during this Kavanaugh process, going up 2% on 538.

His approval never steadily rises for 3 weeks. But this rare situation with the spotlight on someone else has enabled it.

We really needed something like this to show up. Now even better is the inevitability that Trump won't be able to restrain from commenting on it, making a fool of himself.

were tied...

“The theme I see here through all of this is valuations: They play around with valuations in extreme ways,” said Lee-Ford Tritt, a University of Florida law professor and a leading expert in gift and estate tax law. “There are dramatic fluctuations depending on their purpose.”

The manipulation of values to evade taxes was central to one of the most important financial events in Donald Trump’s life. In an episode never before revealed, Mr. Trump and his siblings gained ownership of most of their father’s empire on Nov. 22, 1997, a year and a half before Fred Trump’s death. Critical to the complex transaction was the value put on the real estate. The lower its value, the lower the gift taxes. The Trumps dodged hundreds of millions in gift taxes by submitting tax returns that grossly undervalued the properties, claiming they were worth just $41.4 million.

The same set of buildings would be sold off over the next decade for more than 16 times that amount."

Serious stuff. Tax folk experts are already are saying it is!

Tue Oct 2, 2018, 07:10 PM
Oct 2018

"All told, The Times documented 295 streams of revenue that Fred Trump created over five decades to enrich his son. In most cases his four other children benefited equally. But over time, as Donald Trump careened from one financial disaster to the next, his father found ways to give him substantially more money, records show. Even so, in 1990, according to previously secret depositions, Mr. Trump tried to have his father’s will rewritten in a way that Fred Trump, alarmed and angered, feared could result in his empire’s being used to bail out his son’s failing businesses."

Tue Oct 2, 2018, 07:22 PM
Oct 2018

"A big chunk of Trump’s net worth figure comes from high valuations he bestows on his golf course properties. Trump values nine of his golf properties at “over $50 million” for a total of at least $450 million. He values at least four more at up to $25 million and a fifth at up to $50 million. But golf course valuation experts say there is nothing in the report to support these lofty figures.

“Unless we really know what the income and expenses for the clubs are, it’s impossible to even guess at what the value would be,” said Larry Hirsh, a founder of the Society of Golf Appraisers and the president of Golf Property Analysts. “He’s a classic example of a guy that, when he wants to get a loan or tell you how wealthy he is, he’ll tell you something is worth a bazillion dollars. But when he wants to get taxes reduced, he’ll tell you it’s worth $2.95.”

In fact, a New York state political official accuses Trump of doing exactly that."

I STILL want to see the tax returns.

Folks - THIS is one of many, many, many, many, many reasons to VOTE - in a MONTH!!! Only one more month!

We simply MUST flip at least the House of Reps. It’d be great to win back the Senate too but I’m focusing mainly on the House because I think our realistic chances are better there.

If we win control of the House, then FINALLY, At LONG LAST, there will be some containment of this madness. We - OUR reps, would own all the committees. All the chair positions. All the subpoena power. All the power and authority to launch thorough and credible investigations. All the power and authority to set the agenda and move needed legislation and a rehabilitation of our institutions and a defense of what’s left of our democracy. AND the power to shut down the whining and objections of the opposition.

And if we do, I hope to be posting at the conclusion of next month’s election night: “Let the Investigations BEGIN!!!”
